In certain vehicles, the daytime running lamps (DRLs) remained illuminated when the headlamps were on. Running lights may not deactivate/FMVSS 108 Rear washer - Few owners complained regarding an inoperative rear washer system, disconnection of the boot to the water hose, and hose leakage.The issue was due to software anomalies following an update. Radio - Several owners stated that the radio occasionally malfunctioned, with audio distortions, sudden volume variations, and a failure in saving presets.Software anomalies were the reason for the same. The platform failed to extend outwards or retract in conjunction with the door. Running board - Some raised issues regarding an inoperative articulated running board.Further investigation showed that it was because of a twisted cooler line. Transmission - Some owners mentioned experiencing harsh shifting, transmission judders, surging, and transmission fluid overheating.The root cause was inadequate lubrication and slip/stick of the clutch plates. Clutch noise - Few owners complained of a squeaking noise from the rear of the vehicle, notably in SUVs equipped with the limited-slip differential.The issue was noticeable at full-lock steering maneuvers, and it was due to contact between the wheel mounting face and brake rotor surface. Wheel noise - Some owners reported hearing a clicking noise from the front wheels when turning the vehicle at slow speeds.The upscale AT4 and Denali models offer unique features that give them a distinctive look and feel.2022 GMC Yukon User Complaints and Problems Engine and Mechanical Problems The downsides of poor fuel economy, cumbersome exterior dimensions, and a “truck-y” ride are usually part of the bargain, but the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are surprisingly easy to drive for their size, and they offer excellent all-around refinement and a long list of nicely designed technology and convenience features. The large SUV class is for shoppers who need maximum passenger and cargo capacity, and off-road/towing capabilities as well. ![]() The turbodiesel engine is rated at 21/27 with RWD and 20/26 with 4WD. Premium-grade gas is required for the 6.2 engine the 5.3 runs on regular gas. With the 6.2 engine and RWD, the Yukon is rated at 15/20 and the XL is rated at 14/20 with 4WD, both are rated at 14/19. With 4-wheel drive, they’re rated at 16/20 and 15/19, respectively. ![]() With the 5.3 engine, the Yukon and Yukon XL are EPA-rated at 16 mpg city/20 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive. In addition to some minor revisions in standard/optional equipment, the Yukon AT4 is now available with the 6.2-liter V8 as an option to the base 5.3, and a Denali Performance Black Package is available for the Denali and Denali XL.A “Buckle to Drive” feature in the Teen Driver mode restricts the vehicle from being shifted out of Park if the driver’s seat belt is not buckled. An available trailering package includes a Hitch Guidance with Hitch View feature that offers up to nine camera views, as well as a trailering app with trailer profiles and the ability to monitor the trailer’s tire pressure and temperature. Available safety technologies include a surround-view camera display, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot alert, and rear pedestrian alert.
